Porsche has added a new version of the all-electric Taycan and it’s available in two body styles. The 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS aims to blend performance and luxury while remaining a viable daily driver. This new variant also adds a new version called the Sport Turismo, which is essentially a standard wagon without the body cladding and slightly raised ride height as the Cross Turismo. The sedan and Sport Turismo share the same ride height, giving it a lower center of gravity than its rugged-looking sibling. It also gets a body-colored roof spoiler.

What does the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS get you? For starters, more power. In Launch Control, it makes 590 hp, putting it right in between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo. Porsche says that it can hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It also gets the larger 93.4-kWh battery as standard equipment. The car has an 800-volt charging architecture, enabling it to have peak DC charging rates of 270 kW. That means you can charge from 5 to 80 percent in 22.5 minutes.

The Taycan GTS gets several key exterior design differences from the 4S and Turbo models. These include the SportDesign front fascia and side skirts, gloss black side window trim and rear diffuser, matte black rear badges, satin black 20-inch Turbo S Aero Design alloy wheels, black-tinted headlights, and taillights, and side mirror covers with black accents.

Inside, the Taycan GTS features a special Race-Tex interior package that’s similar to the ones found in Porsche’s other GTS vehicles. This includes 18-way power front seats with the GTS logo embossed on the headrests, black aluminum door sills and interior trim, and a Race-Tex GT steering wheel. The Sport Turismo also gets a glass roof with available viable light control. It has the same cargo capacity at 15.7 cubic feet with all seats up and 42.8 cubic feet with the second row folded. The Taycan Sport Turismo also has a 2.9-cubic-foot frunk just like the sedan and Cross Turismo.

Available interior options include the GTS Interior package, which includes deviated stitching Carmine Red or Chalk on the dashboard, doors, armrests, steering wheel, and seats. That also comes with seat belts headrest embroidery, and Sport Chrono instrument dial in Carmine Red or Chalk, and Matte Carbon steering wheel trim.

GTS models share the same suspension and performance bits from the Turbo models. However, their turning is specific to the GTS. It features red six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers as the 4S but with 390-mm front rotors. The rear rotors remain at 358 mm. You can also opt for Porsche’s surface-coated brakes with tungsten carbide coating or carbon-ceramic brakes. Porsche also retuned the Electric Sport Sound system so that it emits a deeper, louder sound. Adaptive air suspension with a front-end lift and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard along with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and the Sport Chrono package. The only available performance options include Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control Sport system, rear-wheel steering, and Satin Black 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels.

Pricing for the 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS starts at $132,750 for the sedan and $134,650 for the Sport Turismo. You can order both variants now and deliveries are expected to start in the second quarter of 2022. EPA range figures will be released closer to the car’s delivery date. Like its power figures, expect the Taycan GTS’ driving range to slot between the 4S and Turbo models.
