Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. has announced a recall affecting certain models of its vehicles due to a safety issue related to the electrical system. The recall, identified by NHTSA Campaign Number 25V125000, involves approximately 13,769 units of the 2024-2025 AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and the 2024 ID.4. The issue arises from a potential failure of the on-board charger, which may cease to charge the 12-volt battery, leading to a loss of drive power. This loss increases the risk of a crash.
To address this problem, Volkswagen will replace the faulty on-board charger at no cost to the vehicle owners. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent out on April 29, 2025.
