Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. has announced a recall affecting certain models of its vehicles due to a safety issue related to the electrical system. The recall, identified by NHTSA Campaign Number 25V125000, involves approximately 13,769 units of the 2024-2025 AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and the 2024 ID.4. The issue arises from a potential failure of the on-board charger, which may cease to charge the 12-volt battery, leading to a loss of drive power. This loss increases the risk of a crash.
To address this problem, Volkswagen will replace the faulty on-board charger at no cost to the vehicle owners. Notification letters are scheduled to be sent out on April 29, 2025. The recall number assigned by Volkswagen is 93CJ, while Audi’s is 93FR.
