Happy New Year! If you were waiting with baited breath to see how well Tesla did last year in producing and selling electric vehicles, we have the answer for you. It’s about exactly what was expected.
Musk said at some point he expected to deliver 500,000 vehicles in 2020. His company delivered 499,550 total. Missing it by only 450 sales is near-as-makes-no-difference right on the money. Production for the year was 509,737.
In the 4th-quarter of 2020, Tesla produced 179,757 cars and delivered 180,570.
That vast majority of all vehicles sold were Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, though the report doesn’t split the two.
A new year has started and the counter has reset. How many vehicles do you think Tesla is going to push in 2021?
