Polestar has launched a mobile service for the U.S. market and is aimed at improving the customer experience for those who don’t live near an authorized service center. This new program will send a Polestar technician to the owner’s location and perform a wide range of procedures including minor repairs and software updates. This eliminates the need to send the vehicle long distances for maintenance work. It will complement Polestar cars’ over-the-air (OTA) update capability to minimize or completely cut off going to service departments.
“With Polestar’s mobile service offering, customers don’t need to worry about the distance between them and their nearest Polestar service point,” said Steve DeGrazio, Head of Customer Service & Quality at Polestar North America. “Although Polestar Spaces are rapidly opening in most major cities, mobile service is a convenient solution for those without a local Polestar authorized service point.”
In operation starting May 2021, Polestar’s mobile service supplements existing service departments in Los Angeles, San Jose, Corte Madera, New York, Phoenix, Boston, Denver, and Austin. Owners living within 150 miles of a Polestar Space (dealer in Polestar speak) will get complimentary vehicle pickup, delivery, and service. In total, Polestar will open up to 35 dealers in the U.S. by 2022.
Polestar recently added a single-motor version of its Polestar 2 sedan and two trim levels for the dual-motor version.
