The Nissan Ariya is finally going on sale, and it is about to be in the hands of customizers who want to take the new EV and make it their own. In that regard, Nissan brought a modified Ariya to this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas to show off what can easily be done to make the futuristic Ariya retro cool.
Called the Surfwagon concept, the design is based on a California-style surf wagon, also sometimes referred to as a “woodie.”
It has a custom wrap that resembles wood paneling, and features chrome trim that was prominent of beach cruisers of the past. The Ariya Surfwagon is lowered from stock height. The 20-inch solid wheels, painted in blue, look fantastic, and the white-walled tires complete the look.
Well, that and the two surf boards mounted to the roof.
You can check it out, along with the Nissan Sunny Truck that has a Leaf conversion at this year’s SEMA show. Or maybe you’ll catch this Ariya Surfwagon at the beach?
