Kia America has introduced the 2026 EV4 sedan at the New York International Auto Show. This compact electric vehicle (EV) aims to enhance Kia’s range of electrified vehicles and is designed to appeal to a broader audience seeking practicality, affordability, and advanced technology. The EV4 marks Kia’s first global EV sedan, built on the 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which is shared with other Kia EV models.
The EV4 features a unique design that combines elements of traditional sedans with a modern twist. It includes a low nose, long-tail silhouette, and fastback roofline, distinguishing it from the more common crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) and SUVs in the market. The vehicle showcases Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, which emphasizes contrasts found in nature and human experiences. The front end is characterized by vertical headlamps and Kia’s signature Star Map lighting, while the rear features vertical taillights and a two-piece roof spoiler.

Inside, the EV4 is designed for comfort and usability, with a free-floating interface and an open layout that reflects a shift from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric ones. The interior is spacious, utilizing high-quality materials and offering ample passenger and cargo space. It also includes 64-color dynamic ambient lighting for enhanced cabin experience.
The EV4 will be available in three trim levels: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. It offers two battery options: a standard 58.3 kWh battery for the Light model and a long-range 81.4 kWh battery for the Wind and GT-Line models. The estimated ranges for these models are 235 miles and 330 miles, respectively. The vehicle is engineered for efficiency, with a drag coefficient as low as 0.23 Cd, and is capable of DC fast charging, reaching 80 percent charge in approximately 29 to 31 minutes depending on the battery size.

The EV4 also features advanced driving technologies, including the i-Pedal 3.0 system, which allows for speed control and stopping using only the accelerator pedal. The vehicle supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, enabling it to power external devices.
Connectivity is a key aspect of the EV4, featuring a nearly 30-inch combined wide-screen display that includes dual 12.3-inch screens. The vehicle supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and offers a Digital Key 2.0 for remote access and control.
Safety features include standard Highway Driving Assist, which adjusts speed based on navigation data, as well as various driver assistance technologies designed to enhance roadway awareness. The EV4 is set to be produced at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea, with sales in the U.S. anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
