Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the all-new Nexo fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) at the Seoul Mobility Show. This mid-size SUV represents a significant development in hydrogen mobility, featuring advanced fuel cell technology that produces zero tailpipe emissions. The Nexo is designed to provide flexibility, efficiency, and safety for early adopters of FCEVs.
The vehicle is capable of achieving a range of over 700 kilometers with a five-minute refueling time. Safety has been a priority in its development, aiming for top-tier ratings through a suite of comprehensive safety features. The Nexo showcases Hyundai’s experience in fuel cell technology, reflecting 27 years of innovation in this sector.

In terms of design, the Nexo adopts the “Art of Steel” theme, emphasizing the strength and versatility of steel. Its exterior features bold lines and a robust structure, while the interior focuses on passenger comfort with spacious seating and advanced technology. The vehicle is available in six colors, including Goyo Copper Pearl, which draws inspiration from Korean culture.
The Nexo’s performance is enhanced by a new fuel cell system, increasing the total output to 190 kW. Improvements in the powertrain have reduced the 0-100 km/h acceleration time to 7.8 seconds. The vehicle also boasts increased fuel storage capacity and improved aerodynamics, contributing to its efficiency.
Innovative features include a column-type shift lever for better interior space, a FCEV Route Planner for efficient travel, and a sophisticated infotainment system with AI voice recognition. Safety features include a multi-skeleton structure and up to nine airbags, ensuring robust protection for occupants.
The all-new Nexo is set to be available in global markets later this year, highlighting Hyundai’s commitment to expanding its presence in the hydrogen mobility sector and enhancing FCEV infrastructure.
