Hyundai Motor Group has introduced its new mobility software brand, Pleos, during the Pleos 25 developer conference in Seoul. This event signifies a pivotal moment in the Group’s transition towards becoming a mobility technology company. The conference highlighted the development status of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and outlined plans for an in-vehicle app market and ecosystem based on a next-generation infotainment system.
Chang Song, President of Hyundai Motor and Kia’s Advanced Vehicle Platform Division, announced the Pleos brand, emphasizing the Group’s commitment to SDV development. He stated, “In the rapidly changing automotive industry, Hyundai Motor Group has been dedicated to SDV development since 2023.” Pleos aims to create a connected mobility experience that extends from vehicles to infrastructure.

Pleos serves as an end-to-end software platform that integrates high-performance chips, vehicle operating systems, and cloud infrastructure, enabling functionalities such as autonomous driving and optimized route planning. The platform is designed to enhance urban mobility operations and improve user experiences.
The conference also introduced the Next Urban Mobility Alliance (NUMA), which aims to establish public-private partnerships to enhance mobility in urban environments. NUMA focuses on various aspects, including demand-responsive transport services and the development of an autonomous vehicle ecosystem.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to implement Level 2+ autonomous driving by the end of 2027, utilizing advanced AI technologies for improved decision-making. The Pleos 25 conference provided opportunities for developers to engage with SDV technology and explore the potential of the in-vehicle app ecosystem. The Group’s ongoing strategy emphasizes connecting all mobility solutions, promoting a more efficient and user-friendly mobility environment.
