Hyundai has announced an expansion of its complimentary home charger and charging credit offers for the 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup. Customers who purchase or lease any model from this lineup will have the option to receive either a ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger or a $400 charging credit. The charger will be provided through the Hyundai Home Marketplace, which also facilitates the scheduling of professional installation. Customers can redeem the ChargePoint credit via the ChargePoint mobile app. This offer is also available to customers of the 2025 Ioniq 5 N model.
According to Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, the initial complimentary offers were well received. The company aims to simplify the process of owning an electric vehicle by providing a home charger and assistance through the Hyundai Home Marketplace. Customers who already possess a Level 2 home charger or prefer a credit for charging can utilize the $400 offer for future road trips.
Eligible customers who acquire a new 2025 Ioniq 5 starting January 1, 2025, have a 60-day window from the date of purchase or lease to choose between the complimentary charger or the charging credit. To redeem the home charger, customers must create a profile on the Hyundai Home Marketplace, enter vehicle-specific information and their zip code, and select their preferred option. Following this process, customers will receive installation details and a coupon code via email within five business days. It is important to note that hardwired installation is mandatory and costs associated with installation, taxes, and fees are not included. Hyundai Home Energy Advisors are available to assist customers throughout the installation process.
For those opting for the ChargePoint credit, the redemption process is similar. Customers need to create a profile on the Hyundai Home Marketplace and select the out-of-home charging credit option. After redemption, instructions for using the credit on ChargePoint’s website or app will be provided. Customers will receive a coupon code via email and can set up a ChargePoint account if they do not already have one. The $400 credit must be redeemed within 60 days of purchasing or leasing the vehicle and can be used over a two-year period, after which any unused amount will be forfeited.
