Lexus debuted the fully redesigned 2026 ES sedan at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, introducing a new generation that expands the brand’s electrified offerings with both hybrid and battery electric models. The eighth-generation ES is built on a reengineered TNGA GA-K platform and features a fresh design direction, enhanced technology, and a diverse powertrain lineup, including the first-ever ES battery electric vehicle (BEV).
The design of the new ES, inspired by the LF-ZC concept, reflects Lexus’ new “Clean Tech x Elegance” philosophy. The sleek, trunkless silhouette, bold spindle body, and new Twin L-Signature Lamps mark a significant evolution in Lexus styling. The redesigned cabin offers more space and a higher seating position, with new trim innovations like Bamboo Layering and Synthetic Leather Embossing. An Executive Package, available for the first time in North America, includes massaging and reclining rear seats for enhanced comfort.

Inside, the ES introduces the latest Lexus Interface multimedia system with a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, dual Bluetooth connections, and a native voice assistant. The system also integrates navigation into the digital gauge cluster for improved usability.
Powertrain options include the ES 350h hybrid, available in front- and all-wheel drive, and two BEV models: the front-wheel drive ES 350e and the all-wheel drive ES 500e. The 500e features Lexus’ DIRECT4 system, which dynamically adjusts torque between the axles for optimized performance and stability. The 350e offers an estimated range of 300 miles with 19-inch wheels.

For the first time, the ES will also include a multi-link rear suspension for improved handling. The new ES is the first Lexus model to feature Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, offering upgraded active safety features and hardware enhancements.
The 2026 Lexus ES will go on sale next year, with full specifications and pricing to be announced closer to launch.
